The SPLC Hate Map

How the Southern Poverty Law Center uses their hate map to silence their political opponents.

SPLC Hate Map

What is The SPLC?

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) began as a legitimate civil rights organization. In 1987, it sued the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) for the role it played in the death of a black Alabama teenager and won a $7 million verdict. In recent years, however, the SPLC has become a very controversial and partisan organization. Rather than defending victims of discrimination, the SPLC has changed its focus to smearing any group that disagrees with its own political agenda.

Morris Dees

Morris Dees, Founder of the SPLC

SPLC Uses Their Hate Map to Advance a Political Agenda

One example of the SPLC’s tactics is its “Interactive Hate Map.”  The SPLC Hate Map is a scam designed to portray political organizations that disagree with the SPLC in a negative light.  Pitched as an easy-to-use list of hate groups, it’s really just a mash-up of organizations that hold political views opposed to those pushed by the SPLC. There are a few genuine hate groups tossed in – most of them neo-Nazi organizations. But the presence of a small number of actual hate groups merely seems calculated to lead map users to the conclusion that mainstream political opponents of the SPLC are guilty by association.

Designed by the Southern Poverty Law Center and published on SPLCenter.org, the “Hate Map” only contains information that the SPLC wants you to see. Anything that might accurately portray a group of which the SPLC disapproves is deliberately left out. While the map may have once had noble intentions, it now has a sinister dark side. Overall, the “Hate Map” actually contains very little accurate, useful information.

For example, groups like the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) and the Federation for American Immigration Reform(FAIR) work responsibly  – and more importantly, totally transparently – on issues connected with immigration policy, national security, and the economy. These organizations exist to inform the public about the potential negative effects of uncontrolled mass migration. Americans want good information on controversial issues, so they can make responsible decisions when voting and communicating with their political leaders. That’s how political debate in the United States works. However, the SPLC doesn’t agree with the political positions that CIS, CAPS, FAIR, and other organizations focused on political issues believe in, so it intentionally misleads the public in order to squelch open debate. It’s much easier to slander your opponents with emotionally-charged slurs than it is to engage them in logical arguments about questionable policies.

“Groups like CIS, CAPS, and FAIR have members of every color and creed. In fact, many of their members are immigrants who are concerned that irresponsible border management practices will ruin the American dream for future generations of people seeking a new life in America.”

Why Does The Southern Poverty Law Center Care About Immigration?

It is not abundantly clear why the SPLC has gotten involved in the immigration debate.  Immigrants aren’t a “race.” They come from every race and religion found on Earth. And no one who is not a U.S. citizen has a “civil right” to be admitted to the United States. Groups like CIS, CAPS, and FAIR have members of every color and creed. In fact, many of their members are immigrants who are concerned that irresponsible border management practices will ruin the American dream for future generations of people seeking a new life in America.

Labeling CIS, CAPS and FAIR “hate groups” doesn’t reflect any meaningful research by the SPLC. It’s just a political smear.  And the fact that the SPLC has resorted to juvenile name-calling and a politically charged hate map is a strong indication that it is no longer attempting to protect the interests of any particular group that is suffering mistreatment. Instead, it has decided to capitalize on mud-slinging in order to stir up controversy, silence its opponents, and capitalize on fear to generate donations.

That’s probably because the SPLC sees the U.S. as a racist nation and thinks that all patriotic Americans who love their country are racists. If you ask us, that’s a pretty negative view of America. And it’s downright insulting to everyday Americans – who are proud of their homeland and love their fellow Americans, native born and immigrant alike.

So now, Stop Politicizing Legitimate Causes (the other SPLC!) sets out to focus on the positive things America has to offer, rather than the negatives. We bring you the SPLC Greatmap, which shows all the wonderful things here in America and highlights just how wonderful it is to be an American.

The SPLC Great Map

The Great Map was designed to display some of the coolest things we have to offer here in good ol’ U S of A. We’ve listed awesome monuments, landmarks, national parks and organizations that we think are great! Take a quick look below and click on any of the markers for more information!

I have called SPLC three times, spoken to a young lady three times, left messages with “hate reporting line and emailed as well. No response has come in 10 days. My question? SPLC President in a letter to the WSJ responding to an article by Kimberly Strassel. Cohen asserted that the Family Research Council and Alliance Defending Freedom, use “incendiary name-calling and demonizing lies” that render them “hate” groups. My question is and was that Mr. Cohen, provide me and the WSJ with examples. So far the only one calling names and exhibiting hate appears to be Mr. Purity of Heart Cohen. I was a supporter and contributor to SPLC from its inception many years ago. Unfortunately it has been transformed itself into a left-wing provocateur, from what started as an organization that put the Klan out of business. The ugly irony is that SPLC confuses religious conviction with hate. Maybe Mr. Cohen and his staff should to do some openminded religious research. I find virulent hate coming from two directions today. The radical left and radical Islam. Of course some Christians promote hate. But in tiny numbers. The freedom that SPLC was founded to protect today is threatened by organizations and ideologies they tip-toe around for fear of offending the real haters in 2017.

To stop being devisive we have to approach the people we disagree with (so long as they’re not spewing violent hatred or promoting separatism) and ask questions. I need to reach out and practice empathy.

All Americans are thankful for necessary checks and balance by of SPLCinfo.com to protect our democracy from one single private organization — the Southern Poverty Law Center — self appointing itself to damage respectable non-profit organizations without required investigation, public participation or trial. Organizations such as CIS, CAPS, FAIR and countless other Population Stabilization, think tank, study, and community groups raising illegal immigration as a concern, have been wrongly tagged by the Southern Poverty Law Center. To add further damage to insult, APPLE, Amazon, and other huge corporations are “all accepting of SPLC’s erroneous tagging” and without independent investigation of merit, prevent their customers from supporting and donating to these deserving organizations via their websites. Political correctness used to slander is simply unAmerican: Wrong. I stand with those demanding SPLC learn more about groups wanting to stabilize America’s population and enforce the rule of law until laws are democratically changed. Yes, immigration reform is needed. Yes, for environmental and survival reasons, populations need to be stabilized to reflect the area’s carrying capacity. Is it hateful to research, study, share information, debate, and advocate accordingly? Bigotry, racism is categorically wrong and hateful. Information, discussion, research are problem solving, educational tools offered by these respected organizations.

Could not have said it any better. Why has SPLC gone so far left that they fail to see our rights as American citizens to religious freedom. SPLC believes that if you don’t agree with their philosophy then you must be a “Hate Group”. How ridiculous is that? Why don’t they look into and research their allegations before they just put a conservative group on their so called “Hate Map”. Why doesn’t the mainstream media researched this allegations before they label the conservative organizations a hate group totally relying on SPLC allegations. Could it be that SPLC in itself is the biggest “Hate Group” in the United States?

In a article written by the SPLC they say that hate groups can come from any background but come out of hate and fear. I don’t think picking a side will keep violence, hate, and fear out of our country. Its not about the specific hate groups but why they are here in the first place. I can not find a single demographic or article on that. Or how we can help end hate groups, or at least bring more peace.

One of the directors on the Chase Board of Directors works for Warren Buffet.

Another works for GE, Boeing and Exxon.

I also contacted Apple. At first they denied they made a donation. When I mentioned that MSNBC and the San Francisco Chronicle reported they had, they checked again and said that Apple Had donated. When I asked if they were gonna contribute to antifa, they told me they had never hear of the group.

Because of Chase Bank donating $500,000 to the SPLC I called the bank to cancel my credit cards (3).

When asked why I was doing it I told them that Chase had donated to SLPC and that I had called the headquarters to as why. I called 3 times and was told someone would get back to me. “No one” ever did.

Next I plan to go to the bank and canceled my checking account. My new bank even gave me $25 for opening my account.

There are plenty of credit cards out there. We don’t need to use one from a bank that supports SPLC.

I would hope everyone reading this message would call Chase and ask them why they donated. Next, if they can’t give a response you cancel your credit card and then your bank account.

Yes, doing this is a pain in the ass, but if enough of us do this, it might have some effect on Chase.

Beyond their specious claims and malicious, inaccurate labelling, they also fudge the math. Go to their hate map and pull up a state. They count as separate hate groups each office or branch of the same group. So, if Group X has four offices in the state, they are counted as four hate groups. It inflates the number wildly.
